To support and care for the serving and ex-service men and women of the Australian Defence Force and their families, and commemorate their service and sacrifice.

The Doyalson-Wyee RSL sub-Branch is committed to:

Providing welfare and support for the wounded, injured and ill.
Honouring the memory of the fallen.
Preserving the enduring spirit of mateship.
Promoting the interests of veterans and ADF members to Government and the wider community.

About Us

The Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL) was founded in 1916 by soldiers returning from the trenches of World War I. The aim was simple – provide a helping hand for their mates. Since receiving its charter in 1958, the Doyalson-Wyee RSL sub-Branch has been making sure help is always at hand by providing much needed support, advice and camaraderie to the men and women who have served in the Australian Defence Force (ADF), and their families.

Our services include low cost and emergency accommodation, welfare support and advocacy. Explore our services and volunteering opportunities.

About the RSL

The Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL) evolved as a direct result of the camaraderie, concern and mateship shown by the "Diggers" for the welfare of their mates during and after World War I.

Services

Welfare and Support Services offered by the sub-Branch

Types of Services:

Free Confidential Welfare and Advocacy – Provide support and assistance with various issues.
Emergency Accommodation – Offer short-term housing in times of crisis.
Home and Hospital Visits – Provide companionship and support to veterans in their homes or in hospital.
Veterans Affairs Advocacy – Assist veterans with navigating the Department of Veterans' Affairs processes and claims.
Emergency Funding – Offer financial assistance to veterans facing urgent needs.
Poppy Funeral Services – Ensure that no veteran dies alone and provides support for dignified funeral arrangements.
Military Customs and Traditions Advice – Provide guidance on protocols for commemorative events.
Broadband Internet for Seniors – Offer access to computers and internet in the sub-Branch office.
Day Trips and Outings – Organise social activities for members.
Social Functions for Members – Provide opportunities for camaraderie and connection among veterans.
Family and Bereavement Assistance – Offer support to families during times of loss.
Military History Library – Provide access to resources related to military history.
Connecting Veterans to Broader Support Services – Link veterans with services to improve their well-being and connect them to the local community.

RSL Auxiliary

The Doyalson-Wyee RSL Auxiliary supports veterans and their families through practical help, fundraising, commemorative services and social connections.

RSL Membership

Eligibility

Service Membership is open to any person who served with, or supported, or was otherwise engaged with the ADF for a minimum of one day’s service or the Armed Forces of its Allies.

Cost

There is no annual Service Membership fee.

Join Today

Memberships can be undertaken online at www.rslnsw.org.au/get-involved/become-a-member/ or you can download the form, complete it and return it in person to the Doyalson-Wyee RSL sub-Branch office. All sections must be completed and you must provide evidence of service and the application must be witnessed in person (at the sub-Branch office) for approval.

What Does Membership Offer Me?

RSL membership offers you a chance to belong to a supportive community of people of shared experiences. Advocacy services are also provided within the sub-branch. All veterans are welcome regardless of service or age.
